Fleece is typically a safe bet because it is a quiet material and it allows you to come to full draw back without making a sound. A final consideration is what is covering your hands and face. For hunters with fair skin, the last thing you want is to be decked out in gear, then have the perfect animal get a glimpse of your hands or face and run.
What To Wear In A Ground Blind
When hunting in a ground blind, you want to make sure you’re wearing the same color as the inside of your blind so that if a deer looks up, you blend in as much as possible with your blind. This typically means wearing all black. When in a deer blind, you want to cover any part of your body that deer will be able to see through your ground blind windows. Remember…the more you can blend in with your surroundings, the better.
What To Wear In A Treestand
When hunting in a treestand, there is nothing surrounding any part of your body other than the tree branches around you. That being said, dressing in camo from head to toe will be your best bet for blending in and staying invisible to the great outdoors. Wearing Blaze Orange While Hunting
After all of this talk about blending in with your surroundings, you might be wondering…”Why do people wear orange while hunting? Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of trying to blend in?” Great question! The main reason people wear blaze orange is for safety and because it’s the law. This color is very easily spotted by the human eye. Each state is a little bit different on the exact rules, but a general rule of thumb is all hunters and trappers in the field during the open firearms/muzzleloader deer seasons must display blaze orange or blaze pink on the visible portion of their cap and outer clothing above the waist, excluding sleeves and gloves.
Now you might be wondering…if it’s such a noticeable color to human’s, won’t the deer see you? Also a great question…Deer actually have a difficult time seeing long wavelength colors such as red and orange.
