Hobie Mirage Pro Angler 12, new colour for 2024, Sunrise Camo

Otherwise known as the PA12, the Hobie Pro Angler 12 blurs the line between kayak and boat. Much like the larger PA14, the 12′ model offers a level of stability and utility that commands respect.

The Vantage seat system is one of the stand out features (of many) on the Pro Angler fishing kayaks. Offering unparalleled adjustability for height and pitch, back and lumbar support it is also raised off the deck of the boat. Due to it’s padded mesh upholstery the user is always sitting high and dry, never sitting in a puddle of water.

The combined advantages of this system are obvious at a single glance and is one of the reasons that the Pro Angler models are now one of the most popular fishing kayak models on the market. Comfort goes a long way when kayak fishing for extended periods.

Stability is a big deal on the Pro Angler fishing kayaks, easily able to accommodate a respectable load out of fishing rods and tackle, but also the obligatory live well / cooler box or bag. Combined with the flat-top open deck the PA12 also affords the ability to stand up to spot fish and sight cast.

The Pro Angler 12 models boasts utility that is second to none; forward deck mounting boards offer plenty of space for mounting of extras such as rod holders and fish finder units. 4 x on-deck horizontal rod holder tubes allow for stowage of extra rods, which can also be very handy when fishing around over-hanging tree branches. The hatch liner for the bow hatch can be very useful for storage and the rectangular twist & stow hatch offers simple access to a neat tackle box holder system (which can be replaced with an optional rectangular storage bucket if preferred).

Included with the Pro Angler series is the new Guardian Lowrance transducer scupper system, which facilitates the installation of side scan transducers and retracts on command (and impact). Coupled with wiring thru-hull plugs built into the hull, sounder installations have never been so easy, or as tidy. It would be remiss of us to not make mention of the dual steering control for the rudder, which is also a nice touch.
