What are the best spinnerbait rods for bass fishing made out of?

Most of the baitcasting rods for spinnerbait bass fishing are made out of graphite. The newest graphite bass fishing rods are light and very strong. That is such a great combination for a spinnerbait rod.

You can also get a less expensive fiberglass fishing rod for spinnerbaits that will work just fine too. Fiberglass has more give than graphite rods and they are much less likely to snap so they are a great workhorse type of rod that can handle a lot of abuse and still perform very well for you.

Spinnerbaits are one of those lures that can be fished in every season and in many different fishing scenarios. You can fish them in cover and out in open water. You can fish them in the dead of winter or in the middle of summer.

I wrote another article on this website all about the best colors of spinnerbaits to use for bass fishing. You can read that article by clicking right here.

What is the best action for a spinnerbait rod?

The best action for a spinnerbait rod depends upon where you like to fish them. If you like to pitch into cover to fishy looking spots that are within 30 feet or so, then a fast action rod is the way to go. You need the stiff backbone to get those bass hooked and pulled out of the structure or cover that you are fishing in.

If you like to cover a lot of open water, then you will need a different action spinnerbait rod to maximize your fishing effectiveness. A medium/fast action rod is probably your best bet for that more open water bass fishing scenario.

You can get away with a slower action rod because you will not need to haul a big bass out of some sort of structure. You will just need to keep constant pressure on the fish and a slower action rod will help you do that.

What is the best power rating for a spinnerbait rod?

The best power rating for a spinnerbait rod is either heavy or medium/heavy based upon the fishing scenarios that you like to use a spinnerbait in. You will need a heavy power rating for fishing in the vegetation or submerged brush fishing that you may want to do.

You will need a medium/heavy power rating to fish the more open water bass fishing scenarios. That will be your best bet for catching the most bass more consistently.

What is the best length for a spinnerbait rod?

The best rod length for a spinnerbait rod is about 7 feet long. This size of rod is great for pitching into cover or for getting a nice long cast to cover a lot of open water. You can choose to fish with a baitcasting rod or a spinning rod for bass fishing with lures like spinnerbaits. That choice is up to you because they both will work equally as well.

If you only use spinnerbaits in cover, then you might opt for a shorter rod to maximize your accuracy when you are casting to a specific spot. Shorter rods are more accurate. It is really as simple as that. So if you do not need to make super long casts, then a 6 foot spinnerbait rod might be your best bet.

What is the best spinnerbait rod for kayak bass fishing?

Kayak bass fishermen often need shorter bass fishing rods because they are fishing from a seated position. This depends upon your specific tastes and abilities. If you can cast a longer rod when you are sitting down, then use a longer rod for getting better casting distances.

Kayak bass fishing requires different talents from fishing from shore or a bass boat. You will have to choose your spinnerbait rods more carefully if you are a kayak bass fisherman.

How much does a good spinnerbait rod cost?

You can get yourself a nice spinning rod or baitcasting rod that is perfect for spinnerbaits for around $60. You probably should not go with a rod that costs less than that. They usually don’t last very long or perform very well. You can pay upwards of $200 for a good spinnerbait rod but you really do not need to spend that much money.

Somewhere between $60 and $200 is the bottom and top price range that you need to look at for getting yourself a good spinnerbait rod.
