Video best budget clip-on night vision

In this guide I’m going to show you the best night vision scope attachment.

In fact:

These are the same scope attachments that many hunting experts use.

The best part?

I’ve sorted the scope attachments by use. So whether you’re on a budget or need a solid night vision attachment for your AR-15, you’ll find it here.

Let’s get started!

The 4 Best Night Vision Scope Attachment

If you’re pressed on time, here’s a quick list of the best night vision scope attachment:

  1. Bering Night Probe Mini Gen 2
  2. BESTSIGHT Pard Night Vision
  3. Bestsight DIY Digital Night Vision
  4. AGM Global Vision Comanche-22

1. Bering Night Probe Mini Gen 2

The Bering Night Probe Mini Gen 2 is the perfect night vision attachment for your AR-15.

In fact, it’s so small and compact that you can carry it in your pocket when not in use.

From the first time I tried out this night vision attachment, I was hooked.

Why? Keep reading to find out…

Glass Clarity & Reticle

With the Bering Night Vision Probe Mini Gen 2 you’ll get a crystal clear sight image from edge to edge.

The lenses are multi-coated to reduce glare and give you a high contrast image.

This optic uses Gen 2 technology and the image intensifier was selected specifically to allow for high resolution, as well as performance.

Since this is an attachment that goes in front of your daytime scope, this doesn’t have its own reticle. You’ll be using the reticle on your regular optic for targeting and acquisition.

Eye Relief & Eye Box

Another benefit to getting the Bering Night Probe Mini Gen 2 is that you don’t have to worry about eye relief.

Again, this will be attached in front of your scope, so the eye relief doesn’t change from whatever you’re already used to with that.

You might be wondering if this will affect your eyebox and field of view. Luckily, it shouldn’t as it gives you a wide angle field of view that will allow you to cover plenty of area.

Durability

This attachment is ultra-compact and durable.

It is only 5.2 inches long and weighs 15.5 ounces. Even at this super small size, it is highly durable. The aluminum housing is strong and gives you more than enough impact resistance.

Plus, it’s water and fog proof and has dust resistance. I’ve taken mine out hunting in the rain with no problems whatsoever.

It also has a built in lens cover that flips up to protect it from scratches when not in use.

Elevation & Windage Knobs

This optic doesn’t have elevation and windage turrets, as you’ll be using your daytime scope for those types of adjustments.

However, it does have knurled knobs and rings to adjust the focus and illumination that provides you with a slip-free grip.

As for zeroing, none is required. This makes it super quick and easy to switch from daytime to nighttime vision. You’ll maintain your zero from your regular scope.

Plus, you also won’t need to adjust your daytime rifle scope settings at all. There’s no impact shifting or changes as you’re still just using your regular scope. You just get the added bonus of night vision.

Parallax & Magnification

The magnification for this optic is 1x, however it’s optimized for 2-5x magnification on whatever scope you’re using on your AR-15 rifle.

Bering Night Probe Mini Gen 2 rings The Best Night Vision Scope Attachment in 2024

This means you’ll get up to about 275 yards of night vision visibility with the Bering Night Probe Mini Gen 2.

You’ll basically be hunting with your preferred rifle scope at all times. It’ll be business as usual during the day, with the attachment in your pocket. As soon as it gets too dark for accurate visibility, pull it out and quickly mount it to your rifle. It only takes a minute or two and poof! You’ve got night vision.

And best of all, the parallax hasn’t changed either. Whatever parallax issues you’ve already resolved on your regular scope will be exactly the same. Hopefully that means it’s non-existent.

Mounting & Rings

The Bering Night Probe Mini Gen 2 comes with everything you need to mount it to your rifle.

When you purchase the attachment, you can choose the kit you need with it. You’ll either get fitting rings or a side weaver mount.

I chose the weaver mount as it’s super quick and easy to attach to the picatinny rail on my rifle.

You’ll also get the flip-up lens cap I mentioned earlier, as well as some smaller accessories like a cleaning cloth, and it comes in a nice protective case.

  • Gen 2 intensifier tube
  • Ultra-compact design
  • Quick mount capability
  • Optimal performance for 2-5x daytime scopes

2. BESTSIGHT Pard Night Vision

Are you looking for the best digital sight to convert your daytime scope for night vision?

Of course you are!

How about full high-definition video recording?

Plus, full visibility that makes this sight the perfect companion for your scope.

But what makes this sight better than the rest?

Keep reading to find out…

Glass Clarity & Reticle

The glass clarity on this sight is super clear.

In fact, its night vision clarity exceeded my expectations.

And it even has a red laser with great visibility in low light conditions.

Visibility is crucial because you’re also able to record your outings.

Day or night, you get high-definition full color video recording. And battery life that lasts up to 8 hours.

With its built-in Wifi, you’re able to view your recording on your phone or tablet.

Eye Relief & Eye Box

The eye relief is unlimited, so you’ll get your perfect view every time.

Plus, you never have to worry about the light from the screen display scaring off prey.

Why?

With the sight’s standby mode, the eye display will shut off to prevent screen glare. Which will help you keep your prey in sight.

Elevation & Windage Knobs

Instead of knobs, we’ll go over this sight’s settings.

Good news is that it’s user-friendly. Which means if you aren’t exactly a tech expert, you’ll figure the buttons out in no time.

Plus, it’s got a built-in menu for settings such as date and time. This is handy when you want to play back certain moments.

Of course, we’ve got the magnifying buttons to zoom in on targets.

And one of the best features is the menu operation and shortcuts. So you can create shortcuts to your favorite settings.

Durability

This sight is built for action.

Due to its highly durable earthquake resistance, you know it can take all kinds of abuse.

In fact, its recoil is rated up to a .308 caliber.

Plus, its lightweight aluminum construction makes it easy to carry.

Parallax & Magnification

The magnification is 4-28x, so you’ll be able to get epic long-range shots in.

Plus, this sight’s digital zoom function keeps your scope optic at lower magnification to allow more light transmission if needed.

So you’ll never be left in the dark with this sight.

Mounting & Rings

This sight already comes with a scope ring mount attachment.

Plus, you’ll also get a rechargeable battery, USB data cable, protective case, two Allen keys, two spare O-rings, and an owner’s manual.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t have any additions.

In fact, I’d highly recommend getting a Universal Battery Charger. It has a LED screen that reads estimated time for charging and has automatic shut-off.

Because obviously, you’ll need to recharge those batteries after your big day out.

Is the BESTSIGHT Pard Night Vision sight worth it?

If you’re looking for a reliable sight for your scope optic, the BESTSIGHT Pard Night Vision is your best bet.

Here’s why:

  • Wifi connection to phone or tablet
  • 1080P full color HD video recording
  • Easily converts any scope to night vision
  • Rechargeable battery lasts up to 8 hours

It also comes with a one year warranty and full online support. So if you have any issue with the sight, BESTSIGHT has you covered.

So if you’re ready to convert your daytime scope to a night scope with great visibility, I highly recommend the Pard Night Vision sight.

3. Bestsight DIY Digital Night Vision

These are trying times, and most of us are on more of a budget now than we ever were before.

Sometimes, you’ll get lucky and find an amazing bargain on a high-quality product.

Other times, you definitely get what you pay for.

I usually have pretty strong opinions on the products I review, but this one is a real mixed bag.

See also  Greatest Firearms in History

It’s incredibly cheap, and you’re not going to find another night-vision day scope attachment on the market for anywhere near the price.

It’s surprisingly effective for how low tech it is, but if you’ve got the budget to splurge I recommend checking out these high-tech options instead.

However, if you don’t mind that it’s a little clunky, this is an affordable, effective alternative to more expensive night vision scopes.

Keep reading and I’ll tell you all about this Amazon exclusive.

Glass Clarity & Reticle

Since it’s a digital scope attachment, there’s no glass clarity to speak of.

It does have a 5” screen, which makes it really easy to see what you’re aiming at once you’ve properly adjusted the camera lens.

Your reticle is going to depend on the type of scope you mount it to.

In keeping with the budget theme for this experiment, I attached it to a Gamo BSA Optics Sweet 17.

The combination was under $250 and it made a nice pair.

Once I got the BestSight DIY properly screwed on and utilized the included camo tape to make sure it was on tight, I was able to see out to 200 yards clearly with the night vision.

It takes some playing with to get the image to be clear, but once you’ve found the sweet spot it’s great.

Eye Relief & Eye Box

My main complaint about this setup is that it’s absolutely enormous.

After I mounted it on to my setup, it was nearly as long as the scope itself.

That means there’s not a ton of room for eye relief for this, although since you’re using a screen to see your target it’s not as big of an issue as it would normally be.

This isn’t a traditional night vision attachment, so as long as you go into it realizing that, then you’ll like it.

If you’re in the market for something a bit less cumbersome, try these red dot sights.

Durability

Since it’s completely digital it shouldn’t come as a surprise that this attachment is pretty fragile.

It’s best used on a low caliber rifle such as a 17HMR or a 22.

If you try to put it on anything with a lot of recoil it’ll break pretty much immediately.

There’s no shock absorbers, water or weatherproofing, or any of the things you would typically find on scope attachments.

If you’re using it on a clear night on a low caliber rifle then you’ll be fine.

I don’t recommend trying to take it out hunting through brush, rain, or rough terrain though.

This is definitely much more of a varmint hunting, home and ranch defense kind of setup.

Elevation & Windage Knobs

None to speak of.

Since it’s a digital scope, you’ll just adjust the camera lens until you get the clarity you’re looking for.

Parallax & Magnification

If you don’t get the mount screwed down properly then the parallax is going to be rough.

You’re going to want to take the time to make sure it’s securely attached (make use of the included camo tape!).

Then just rotate and play with the camera lens until you’ve found the sweet spot.

Once it’s set, it’ll stay fairly true. It took a while for me to get it to focus properly, but once I did I haven’t had any issues with it.

Again, just like with the reticle, your magnification is going to depend on your scope’s capabilities.

If your scope doesn’t have the magnification that you’re hoping for, check out these red dot magnifiers you can add to your setup.

Mounting & Rings

It comes with all of the necessary equipment you need to mount it onto your rifle.

The package includes multiple rings so that you can choose the ones that fit properly to your setup.

Unfortunately, even though it requires batteries, they don’t come included, so you’ll need to purchase them separately.

These are the Bestsight batteries I got from Amazon.

No products found.

Without the batteries, the IR flashlight won’t work, and if you buy cheap ones it’ll suck them dry.

Is the Bestsight DIY Digital Night Vision worth it?

Honestly, I’m still conflicted on this one. Here’s the recap.

  • It’s cheap
  • Built-in IR flashlight
  • Large digital screen
  • Clear out to 200 yards
  • Good for varmint hunting

Personally, I think if you’ve got the budget for it you should spend the extra and get a real night vision scope.

But, this one will do in a pinch, and if you don’t mind how cumbersome it is, then it’ll do the job for a fraction of the price.

4. AGM Global Vision Comanche-22

Get ready for the last night vision device you’ll ever buy.

I’ve bought a lot of powerful optics over the years. It’s safe to say I’ve invested almost as much in scopes as I have in firearms. While I do own a ton of night vision scopes, not all of my scopes are low-light optimized.

That’s where the AGM Global Vision Comanche-22 comes in.

With the Comanche add-on, I’ll never have to change out my scope for night use again. Best of all, I can keep using all my favorite optics at night.

How can it be that I’ve optimized ALL my guns for low-light settings with one budget clip-on night vision purchase? Read on…

Glass Clarity

The Comanche uses top quality glass.

When I snapped this clip-on to my riflescope, I was expecting to lose some of the image’s crispness. I was pleasantly surprised at the clarity!

Not only will the Global Vision Comanche-22 not obscure your vision, but it will reflect more light into your eyes!

More light means better vision, day or night.

Infrared Imaging

Ever wish you could hog hunt with a spotlight?

The AGM Global Vision Comanche will do you one better. By bathing your target in infrared light, you illuminate your target to your eyes only.

The naked eye cannot see infrared light, and neither can the eyes of your prey. Your target will appear clearly in your scope with the Comanche, allowing you to use your optic’s reticle for a perfect shot.

I’ve bought and loved a lot of night vision scopes in my life. One thing I don’t like is having to switch scopes on my rifles. If you are buying a new AR, you might want to invest in a great AR night vision scope in the first place.

If you are looking to optimize the rifles you already own for night hunting, this budget clip-on night vision solution is for you.

Durability

The AGM Global Vision Comanche-22 is a well-built piece of tactical gear.

The Comanche-22 operates in temperatures from -50 degrees to 120 degrees Farenheight. It is resistant to drops, scrapes, water, and fog.

Any environment you can operate in, the Comanche will be right there with you.

The Comanche is shock-proof but not indestructible. Even the most well-built equipment can be damaged if you abuse it.

The electronics inside can withstand normal wear and tear for years if you refrain from using it as a bludgeon. Take care of your gun, and it’ll take care of you.

You are much more likely to see your optic fail before the Comanche. Make sure you are using a quality scope like one of these AR carry handle scopes.

Mounting

The AGM Global Vision Comanche-22 used a revolutionary clip-on system for converting any riflescope into a night vision scope.

This add-on clips to any pic rail mount or weaver rail mount. No tools are required, and no trip to the gunsmith. Just pop it on and get shooting!

Is the AGM Global Vision Comanche-22 worth it?

It’s the last night vision tool you’ll ever buy, and well worth the price.

Don’t waste your time finding night scopes for every rifle you own when you already have daytime optics you love and trust. With the AGM Global Vision Comanche-22, every optic in your arsenal is a night vision scope to outshine the best.

When you buy the Comanche, you’re getting…

  • long battery life
  • Snap-on installation
  • automatic daytime shutoff
  • compatibility with any scope
  • total illumination that prey can’t see

The best part?

The Comanche has a built-in wifi-enabled camera so that you can share your epic shots!

If you hunt at night, stop spending time and money switching your optics back and forth between day and night. Let the AGM Global Vision Comanche-22 be your total solution to low-light shooting. And make sure to show off that kill cam!
