A VIDEO showing what appears to be a live worm in a package of salmon at Costco has gone viral.

More than one TikTok has popped up showing the creatures wriggling in packages.

Rachel Lyn (@mrsrachellyn) shared a video captioned: “Live parasites in the salmon at Costco today.”

A small white worm was moving on the fish.

A similar video of a worm on salmon packaged at the store was posted just a month later by Eugene Snead (@ambassadorofchristos).

“Always check your meat!” he captioned the clip.

While it was unsightly, people in the comments quickly quelled fears.

“Not just Costco. FDA says any wild salmon needs to be frozen for 7days minimum to kill all parasites. farmed salmon has anti-parasitic feed,” wrote one viewer.

“My Dad worked for Consumer & Corporate Affairs. Lots of varieties of fish have microscopic worms you can’t even see, especially cod!” added another.

Matthew Stasiewicz, an Associate Professor of Applied Food Safety at the University of Illinois, told The Kitchn that the worms pose a risk for sushi eaters.

“Worms are gross, but once cooked, the fish would likely be fine to eat,” he said.

“Freezing sushi fish at some point before [serving] will kill the parasites.”

He suggested buying farm-raised salmon instead of wild-caught for anyone who is worried about the worms.

The U.S. Sun reached out to Costco for more information.

CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS

A Costco shopper recently found an inedible ingredient in the muffins they bought.

They posted a picture on Reddit showing a crumpled blue object baked into the center of the treat.

“Found a latex glove while cutting into a Costco muffin. How should I go about reporting this?” they wrote in the r/Costco subreddit.

Someone suggested reporting it to the store manager, adding: “I hope they take care of you in some way. That’s just unacceptable.”

But another person said it wasn’t that big of a deal.

“The gloves (and kitchen bandaids) are blue for this exact reason. People act like this is the end of the world and they need to be massively compensated for a mistake that is really nothing more than ‘a little gross,'” they commented.

Some even joked around, saying it was Costco’s secret ingredient, “gLove.”

Another shopper found a “snakeskin” like item in their syrup.

A Costco customer warned others that “raising food prices” are on the way.
