Springfield Armory 1911-A1 Range Officer Operator
The 1911-A1 Ranger Officer Operator pistol is built with hammer-forged steel for both the frame and the slide of the gun. This process ensures that your gun will be as accurate as possible and will last a lifetime. The parkerized finish to the barrel and slide is incredibly expensive to do, but it prevents the metal from ever corroding, even in wet and humid conditions. The barrel is match-grade for optimal accuracy in the competitive shooting environments, such as the 3-Gun Competition. The extended thumb safety is easy to use, but it’s not ambidextrous. The beavertail grip safety ensures shooters with larger hands are able to avoid getting chewed up by the hammer during cycling.

Ruger SR1911 Target SS
The Ruger SR1911 Target SS is CNC-machined for the most precise fit between the slide and frame for the smoothest possible cycle of operations. The Ruger SR1911 is built with a lightweight skeletonized trigger. This trigger reduces the weight of the traditional trigger, increases the fire rate by a fraction of a second, reduces the creep, and provides a positive reset of the trigger. Smith & Wesson is one of the most influential gunmakers in the world with its legendary revolvers. Chambered in .45 Auto, this pistol has the power, accuracy, and reliability to take into any competition shooting event or to give you peace of mind in a home defense situation. Sig Sauer 1911 Spartan-II
The Sig Sauer 1911 Spartan II is a phenomenal pistol with the most beautiful bronze finish I’ve ever seen on a pistol. Personally, I think it’s a marketing ploy to put the famed Spartan o the grip. However, the Siglite sights are elevated and provide a clear sight picture for rapid target identification, which really enhances the effectiveness of the pistol. The ambidextrous thumb safety is exceptional and enhances the overall ergonomics of the pistol. The carbon steel barrel and steel frame provide a solid and sturdy platform to shoot from to provide exceptional accuracy. The Spartan II is built around a 4.5″ barrel, which provides more versatility in carrying the pistol and assists in preventing the barrel from getting hung up on your holster.

Federal 45 ACP 230 GR JHP
I wanted to give you an idea of what type of ammo you should use with the 1911 style pistol. It’s no secret that the .45 ACP is a heavier bullet with a lower velocity than the 9mm, but it packs more of a punch and does significantly more damage. I recommend the 230 Grain bullet because its heavy enough to ensure accuracy at ranges up to 50 yards with ease. This Federal ammo is a Jacketed Hollow Point, which gives great and symmetrical expansion upon impact. The Jacketed casing allows for a deeper penetration before the robust expansion of the hollow point. In short, this bullet is going to destroy any soft tissue that it hits and will ensure you’re you only need to hit your target once to make a life-changing impact.

Armscor 45 Auto 230 Gr JHP
I chose this Armscor 45 ACP bullet because it’s great ammo for training purposes with the best overall price for .45 ACP. Armscor is a valuable ammo company that produces bullets with very reliable and clean primers, encased in brass for durability. There better ammo companies than Armscor, but you can buy the same amount of bullets for half the price of most Federal, Winchester, and Remington ammo. I can’t stress enough the importance of practicing with your pistol to increase your effectiveness and comfort with the pistol. .45 ACP ammo is never cheap, so if you can get the same size and weight ammo for half the price and save hundreds a year on training, then you should take advantage of that by all costs.
